The four part series includes the following timely global issues:

Globalization

Worldviews
Global Issues Knowledge

Each book in the series is about 200 pages and includes lesson plans, activities, stories, resources and testing suggestions.

...is dedicated to encouraging the education of globally aware citizens who, using 21st century  skills, participate in a more sustainable, equitable, peaceful, and culturally tolerant world community.

further a holistic approach to world history, encourage a global perspective, deepen our understanding of critical global issues and globalization, and create alternative pedagogical tools for teachers, students, and the general public; all with the express purpose of creating solutions for a more sustainable, equitable, peaceful, and culturally-tolerant world community. 

Dr. Denise R. Ames ...
i
s the founder and director of the Center for Global Awareness. She is a  life-long educator with over 20 years teaching experience at universities, a community college, and secondary schools. She received her doctorate in world history/social studies education at Illinois State University and  has taught academic courses in Global Issues/Globalization, World and United States history, Western Civilization, Cultural Studies, and humanities. 

Her current teaching and research is dedicated to the development of the Global Awareness Program series, GAPs, a globally-focused, alternative curriculum for educators and secondary school students and college undergraduates. The centerpiece of the series is the (forthcoming) book  Waves of Global Change: A Holistic World History. Along with curriculum development she conducts professional development workshops nationally and internationally. 

She has two adult children and lives in the bucolic North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
