next generation in mind Brief Description of the Center The Center for Global Awareness is a non-profit organization dedicated to the purpose of encouraging greater global awareness through presenting a holistic approach to world history, promoting a global perspective, deepening an understanding of critical global issues and globalization, encouraging cross-cultural awareness, and envisioning alternative perspective for educators, students, and the general public. All the with express purpose of using 21st century skills to create solutions for a more sustainable, peaceful, and culturally-aware world community.

Her current teaching and research is dedicated to the development of the Global Awareness Program series, GAPs, a globally-focused, alternative curriculum for educators, secondary school students and college undergraduates. The centerpiece of the series is the (forthcoming) book Waves of Global Change: A Holistic World History. Along with curriculum development she conducts professional development workshops nationally and internationally. She has two adult children and lives in the bucolic North Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
Nancy W. Harmon (M.A.) Nancy and Denise first met at a globalization study group in 2003. They met again while serving on the board of directors for a non-profit called PeacePal in Albuquerque in 2007. They both were involved in curriculum design at PeacePal. Their common interests and desire to continue to serve the educational community led them to join together to expand the services of the Center for Global Awareness as a non-profit organization.
