Cultural Studies

This Cultural Studies course seeks to expand beyond the typical coverage of the construction of race, sex and gender, social class, and sexual orientation to include a broad range of contemporary cultural topics -- immigration, consumerism, values assessment, the elderly, and globalization. We will examine the construction of our modern Western worldview and see how it affects our ways of knowing and understanding the world, as well as how we conduct our daily lives. We will also deconstruct our modern worldview and explore political, economic, and social alternatives to mainstream culture.

Join me in this exciting class that will be offered at TVI fall 2003.  Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.
