Western Civilization II

Welcome students to Western Civilization II.  In this class we will trace the emergence, intensification, and spread of the "western worldview" not only in Europe but the United States and world as well.  We will see how such concepts as capitalism, trade, liberalism, industrialization, social upheaval, nationalism, liberation of women, imperialism, militarism, and consumerism have evolved and shaped our modern Western worldview.

This is one of my favorite courses to teach, and I hope you will find it interesting as well.
